London Calling

This is a tribute to London and to friends living in the city.

In my teens, I had a keen interest in all things English... tea, scones, music, fashion and hoped to someday travel there. During this time, I had accumulated a number of travel brochures and began to draw.

I took a liking to an image of the iconic Big Ben clock tower and began to sketch it out, before too long it turned into a drawing, I don't remember how long it took to complete, I did spend a few weekends working on it, neglecting my other studies!

Das Model

I share with you this photo taken recently after one of my drawing classes. The life model Annie wanted to take a photo of me with this 20 minute drawing I did, as she is creating an on-line visual diary (via Facebook) of artists and their creations. I was flattered to be asked and a little embarrassed with the attention, Annie liked the strength and the fact that I drew her ribs telling me no one ever does!
